PoE 2 Cheats: What Actually Gets You Banned and Which QoL Tweaks Are Safe
Updated: July 2026
What players call "cheats" in PoE 2
"Cheats" covers wildly different things — from bots that farm for you to simple comfort tweaks. Lumping them together is a mistake, because their risk is completely different. Here's where the real line is, the one past which a ban starts.
What GGG actually bans
GGG punishes a specific category of tools, not "any third-party software":
- Reading and writing process memory — ESP, auto-target, memory-based highlighting.
- Gameplay automation — bots, auto-pickup, auto-flasks, macros that play for you.
- Client injection — interfering with the running game process.
That's what gets detected and leads to a ban. Classic "cheats" fall entirely into this bucket — which is why they're a direct route to losing your account.
A different risk class: offline file edits
There's a category of tweaks built differently. It never touches the running process: edits are made to local client files with the game closed, with no memory reads and no automation. GGG's rules formally forbid any client modification — that's the honest caveat. But by known practice, enforcement has historically hit bots and memory tools, not offline cosmetics. That's an observation, not a guarantee, and the call is always yours.
What you can improve without cheats
Most of what people reach for cheats to get is covered by plain comfort — no memory, bots, or injection:
- Mod readability — dangerous map mods in red, valuable rolls in gold. Guide: mod coloring.
- FPS and a clean screen — remove delirium fog, rain, particles. Guide: FPS and effects.
- Loot filter — so valuable drops aren't lost on the ground. Guide: PoE 2 loot filter.
All of this Prism does by editing local files offline, with a full backup and one-click revert — without the things that actually get you banned. More on safety in the FAQ.
What gets you banned in PoE 2?
GGG bans tools that read or write the game's process memory, automate gameplay (bots, auto-pickup, auto-flasks), and inject into the client. That category is the real reason for bans — not 'any third-party software at all.'
Are PoE 2 cheats safe?
No. Classic cheats (injectors, memory-based ESP, bots) are a direct route to a ban because they hit exactly what GGG monitors and punishes. We don't offer tools like that.
What can I improve in PoE 2 without cheats?
Readability and comfort: highlight dangerous map mods and valuable rolls, strip fog and excess effects for FPS, set up a loot filter. Prism does this by editing local files offline, with no memory access or automation, and a revert.
